You must buy a new pass for the 2010 season.
No passes from previous years will be accepted for admission.
Please Note: The Harrisburg Park
District assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen passes. If a
pass is stolen please report the incident to the Harrisburg Park
Office. Once a pass is purchased, no refunds will be given. ALL
children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal
guardian at all times. Bicycles left at the pool should be locked at
all times.
Public Swim Lessons
Ages: 5 and up
Days: June 7 – week of July 19
Fees: $30 per week (Mon – Fri)
Beginners/Intermediate: 11-11:55 a.m. Mon-Fri
Advanced: 10 – 10:55 a.m. Mon-Fri
Registration begins every Monday at the pool.

Rental Times: after 5 p.m. on certain Tues through Sat evenings

based on age and swim level of participant. Bullfish Fees: $55 one
child/ $80 two children/ $115 3+ children. Pool Usage Fees: $40 per

Pool Regulation: Ordinance #102
The
Harrisburg Township Park District Board of Commissioners has
officially adopted the following ordinance #102. Please read the
ordinance carefully as all aspects will be strictly enforced. The
Harrisburg Police Department has been advised to arrest any and all
violators of this ordinance.
Ordinance #102
The area immediately surrounding the Memorial
Park Pool will be limited to: those in line to enter the pool; and
parents or legal guardians, etc. in the pool area with their
children or to watch their children in the pool; those bringing or
departing with children from the pool. There will be no loitering or
any other types of assembly allowed in this area. The area is
defined as 500 feet or closer to any point of the restraining fence
surrounding the pool. Anyone other than those previously mentioned
can be charged with criminal trespass, unlawful assembly, and
depending on the severity, disturbing the peace. Those charged can
be subject to fines in accordance with other park district
ordinances and policies. This ordinance was designed to meet the
responsibility to protect the park and pool patrons.

Free Fishing Weekend at Memorial Park Lagoon
What better way to brush up on your fishing skills? On this special
weekend, you may go fishing at the Memorial Park lagoon without a
fishing license. This weekend begins Saturday, June 12, and ends
Monday, June 14, 2010.
Fishing Tournament
There will be a certain number of tagged
catfish stocked in the lagoon for this season’s fishing contest. As
always, the number on the fish corresponds with a certain prize at
the park office. Contestants must bring the tag to the Park Office.
No sign up is required for this contest. The contest will begin at 8
a.m., Saturday, June 12, and will end Friday, July 16, 2010.
Summer Pool
Parties!
There will be two
pool parties this summer with music by Keith Kingery, food by Little
Caesar’s Pizza and fun for all at Bill Trees Memorial Park Pool.
Admission is free for these. Have some fun in the sun on us!
1. Family Day Pool Party – for those
ages sixteen and under, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian,
1- 4 p.m., Saturday, June 26.
2. Middle-School Pool Party – for kids
ages 11-14, 1- 4 p.m., Thursday, July 22.

Learning to Bowl
Hey Kids! Do you want to know how to bowl?
Bowling is exercise that you don’t even know you’re getting because
it’s so much fun and you can hang out with and play all your
friends!
Dates: Thursdays in June, starting June 3
Ages 4 – 8: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Ages 9 -15: 2 - 4 p.m.

Recycled Crafts
Have you ever wondered what to
do with all of your empty milk cartons, discarded CDs/DVDs, plastic
soda bottles, empty juice containers, or other used household
items?? In an effort to keep these items out of landfills, recycle
your trash into works of art or other useful items! Join this class
to become a part of the "Green Movement" and learn ways to reuse
trash that you never thought imaginable! This two-hour course will
be filled with lots of hands on activities and everyone will leave
with many completed recycled crafts! Instruction is by Amber
George, Family and Consumer Sciences instructor.

Pre-School Craft Class
Looking for something fun for
your preschooler to be involved in? In this class we will be a very
interactive and hands on course that intertwines early literacy and
crafts! Emphasis will be on developmental concepts such as letters,
shapes, numbers, and colors! Your child will listen to exciting
stories and make crafts to accompany them! A fun time for your
preschooler! Instruction is by Amber George, Family and
Consumer Sciences instructor.

Baton Twirling
Baton twirling is a very fun and entertaining
sport. Learn how to spin like the pros. You will gain self
discipline, confidence, and a skill you can show off to your family
and friends. Instruction is by Kathleen Riggs, twirling instructor.
Ages: 7-9
Date: Monday – Thursday July 12-15
Time: 5 - 6 p.m.

Yoga for Kids ages 5 - 11
This class will explore the fun side of yoga
with animal poses, movement, and dance. It will also emphasize the
importance of eating healthy foods, and exercising to keep the body
strong throughout our lifetime. Other yogic principals will be
discussed such as resolving conflicts in a peaceful manner, and
using breath to achieve focus and concentration. No special
equipment is required. Everything will be provided. Children should
wear comfortable clothes. A light healthy snack will be provided
after each class.

Fun Beading
Participants will enjoy beading their own
bracelets and necklaces, which can be worn or given as gifts.

Cake Decorating
Have you ever walked through
the local grocery store and admired the beautiful decorated cakes in
the bakery? With a little instruction and practice, you can create
cakes that look just as professional and have your own special
personal touch! Baking and decorating your own masterpieces is an
excellent art to master as well as a huge money saver!! Attend this
class to learn the all around basics of cake decorating. Discussion
over the necessary tools, demonstration of basic techniques, and
hands-on practice will be the central focus of this class. Come and
join the fun while learning the basics of Cake Decorating!

Introduction to Drawing

wanted to be able to draw? In this class, you will learn basic
drawing skills and techniques such as shading, values, and
positive/negative space. Instruction is by Nancy Drone, HMS Art

Meditation
This 10-week class will instruct about
different levels of meditation, forms of relaxation, and will focus
on opening the chakras (energy centers of the body). It involves
meditation exercises that expand the mind. This program may be
beneficial to those in need of physical and mental relaxation and
can help people on the journey of learning about themselves. There
will be paranormal aspects of this class.
Times: 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Tuesdays for 10
classes

Yoga Classes
Regular yoga classes will start up again this
fall 2010 in August and September. Yoga is great for relaxing the
body and mind. It can ease health problems, discipline the mind, and
improve a person’s focus. Yoga involves body stretching positions
that students will perform at their own physical levels. Health
practitioners in this area have recommended yoga to many of their
patients. The park has had many happy yoga students walk through the
doors, smiling. Information on yoga classes will be announced later
in the Daily Register park column and on the park webpage at:
